DANIEL HECHTER REVOLUTIONIZED FASHION IN THE 60’S BY MAKING IT AVAILABLE TO EVERYONE.

He is one of the inventors of the ‘ready-to-wear’ and the concept of ‘affordable luxury’, which has been the brand’s motto for over 50 years. He was the first to develop and communicate a brand as a lifestyle. Based on its history and its DNA, the brand has grown, evolved and has become a true international success.

1962

creation of the brand with womenswear

In 1962, Daniel Hechter created the brand and launched his first womenswear collection.

1965

Kidswear

In 1965, he launched his first kidswear collection.

1967

Maxi Dress

In 1967, he disrupted the fashion world with his « maxi » dress pattern while the miniskirt was thriving.

1968

Menswear

In 1968, he launched the menswear collection which had an immediate success.

1973

In 1973, he bought the Paris St Germain club that he raised to the 1st division level. Moreover, he designed the historical football jersey of the club.

1975

Sport collection

In 1975, he launched the first Sport Collection.

1998

Miltenberger Otto Aulbach GmbH acquires the brand

In 1998, Miltenberger Otto Aulbach GmbH, licensee for Daniel Hechter in Germany for years, acquired the brand. By restructuring collections, the current owners are strengthening its success all over the world.

2012

50 years

In 2012, the brand celebrated its 50th anniversary with a campaign signed by Peter Lindbergh.

2023

HECHTER PARIS

Daniel Hechter becomes HECHTER PARIS and is now positioned in the premium segment.
